His work has appeared in <em>The Sunday Times<\/em>, <em>Times Educational Supplement<\/em>, <em>The Guardian<\/em>,<em> The Telegraph<\/em> and countless other magazines and newspapers; he has illustrated annual reports, photographed and designed award-winning calendars, produced film and audio-visual presentations, created exhibitions and provided consultancy to many organisations.<\/p>\n<p>David and Shirley Kilpatrick&#8217;s company Icon won the 1987 PIRA Desktop Publishing Award &#8211; the first ever given &#8211; and featured in Apple&#8217;s promotional literature. A pioneer of digital imaging from the late 1980s onwards, he was given the President&#8217;s Award of the BIPP in 1991 for this work. He has written several technical books on photography and edited or co-written many more, and has been editor of several national professional photographic magazines.<\/p>\n<p>David is currently publisher and editor of\u00a0<a title=\"Cameracrat microsite\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iconpublications.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cameracraft<\/strong><\/a> magazine and\u00a0also runs the <a title=\"Photoclubalpha\" href=\"http:\/\/www.photoclubalpha.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Photoclubalpha<\/strong><\/a> web site and forum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>David is an experienced editor and designer, qualified in both journalism and photography &#8211; NCTJ, FBIPP, HonFMPA.
